Confluence Theater has announced its 2027 season

2 min read

Confluence Theater, the name of the theater company that brings together the Pittsburgh Public Theater and the Pittsburgh CLO, has announced its shows for the 2027 season.

The season kicks off with the 1963 musical comedy “She Loves Me” at the O’Reilly Theater starting Feb. 2. It will be at the theater through Feb. 28.

The rest of the season will include:

-“Purpose,” March 30 to April 18 at the O’Reilly Theater.

A Pulitzer- and Tony Award-winner, Branden Jacobs-Jenkins’s “Purpose” follows a family built on a civil rights legacy — a patriarch who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a son fresh from political scandal, and a matriarch guarding the family name at any cost. Get them alone at a homecoming dinner, and the knives come out.

-“Les Miserables,” June 15-27 at the Byham Theater

One of the most produced musicals of all time, “Les Miserables” is about a hungry man, a stolen loaf of bread, and 19 lost years that lead to one unexpected revolution.

-“Cabaret,” July 20 to Aug. 15 at the O’Reilly Theater

Inside Berlin’s Kit Kat Club in 1929, there’s a world of glittering decadence, forbidden romance, and dazzling spectacle, even as darkness gathers just outside the door.

-“Matt and Ben.” Aug. 4-29 at the Greer Cabaret Theater

Two best friends. One stuck screenplay. And then, a screenplay falls from the ceiling of Ben’s apartment, titled “Good Will Hunting.” “Matt and Ben” is a comedy that imagines the real (definitely not real) story behind Hollywood’s most famous friendship.

-“The Comedy of Errors,” Sept. 14 to Oct. 10, 2027, at the O’Reilly Theater

Two sets of long-lost twins wander into Ephesus on the very same day, and by lunchtime nobody can tell their spouse from a stranger, their boss from an imposter, or their oldest friend from someone they’ve never met. “The Comedy of Errors” a farce by William Shakespeare filled with mistaken identity and madcap mayhem.

Season tickets will go on sale later this fall. For information, go online to confluencetheater.org.
