Four dead in Interstate 79 crash

Four people were killed in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday on Interstate 79 near Waynesburg, according Greene County 911.

According to multiple sources, Cullen Frazier, 18, of Waynesburg, Benjamin Hardy, 18, of Waynesburg, Byron Kerr, 18, of Carmichaels and Michael Cohen, 47, of Ontario, Canada, were killed in the crash.

State police said other passengers involved in the accident were transported via medical helicopter to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, W.Va.

Greene County 911 said the accident occurred around 4:30 p.m. by Ruff Creek Road near mile marker 21 on the southbound side of the interstate.

State police diverted southbound I-79 traffic for several hours in Washington County to exit 23.

State police, Waynesburg volunteer fire department and EMS Southwest responded to the accident.
