Police investigating shooting in Greene County

Police were responding to the scene of a shooting in Greene County Friday afternoon.

The incident was reported at Garrison Ridge Road in New Freeport before 3 p.m.

The event is being considered an isolated incident, with no risk to the public, said Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Kalee Barnhart.

Freeport Township Board Chairman Guy Hostutler announced on the township’s Facebook page as of 2:41 p.m. emergency services would not allow traffic on the road from Fox Hill Road to Plantz Hill Road. He asked drivers to find an alternate route.

No information on the people involved or any potential injuries was available as of Friday afternoon.
