Bernard Rosiek Sr.
Bernard (Brownie) Rosiek Sr., 75, of Brier Hill, Pa., passed away Monday, May 20, 2002, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 15, 1926, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., a son of Andrew Rosiek and Josephine Povocheck Rosiek.
Bernard was a member of the Church of The Madonna of Cardale, retired foreman from Ragner-Benson Construction Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., and a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II, in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign, where he received the Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars.
He was a member of Laborers Local 373, Pittsburgh, and the Uniontown VFW Post 47.
Preceding him in death were his sisters, Stella, Josephine and Julie; and brothers, Victor, Andrew, Henry and Walter.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Marlene Trieschmann Rosiek; children, Julia Skursha and her husband, Edward of Hopwood, Pa., Bernard Rosiek Jr., of Brownsville, Pa., Peggy Sandifer of Adelanto, Calif., Ronald Rosiek and his wife, Judy of Uniontown, Pa., and Norbert (Bud)Rosiek and his wife, Gail of California, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Rosiek of Cleveland, Ohio, and Frances Gentile of Solon, Ohio.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, today from 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 10 a.m., when a prayer service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10:30 a.m., in the Church of The Madonna, with the Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Rutkowski as celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, where military rites will be accorded by Uniontown VFW Post 47.
