Carl Berardi
Carl Berardi, 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born in Bruceton, Pa., on Aug. 18, 1913, son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Berardi.
He was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree and the Fraternal Order of Police Local No. 55. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army, working with the Medical Btn.
Mr. Berardi was a former coal miner with the Isabelle Mine for many years. He was also a city patrolman for the City of Uniontown, for over 20 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Antoinette Berardi, who raised him; and two sisters, Mary Yamarino and Pauline DeNardo.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Clara (Gladys) Pasqualone Berardi; a son, Frank J. Berardi and his wife, Patricia of Uniontown; a daughter, Amy Slusarick and her husband, Dave of Uniontown; a grandson, David Slusarick; a sister, Phil Petno of Uniontown; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., at which time a Blessing Service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian burial in St. Therese de Lisieux R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth G. Zaccagnini V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. The Altar Society will recite the Rosary today at 7:30 p.m.
