Tom Mozden, media coordinator, issued the 2002 campaign for the Great Bethel Baptist Church Collection Center and the Uniontown area. The total stood at 10,462 boxes collected. This included the drop-off sites at Everson Evangelical, 880; Christ United Methodist Church in Rockwood, 1,188; World Christian Outreach in Connellsville, 796; Clinton Church of God in Normalville, 263; Amity Church of God, 904; Meyersdale United Methodist Church, 642; New Life Covenant Church in Markleysburg, 283; and Great Bethel Baptist Church, 5,506.
Local participants included 188 churches, nine Girl Scout troops, eight Boy Scout troops, 26 groups, clubs and organizations; 21 schools and 172 individuals or families for a total of 424 participants.

ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner of Beeson Avenue and Dunbar Street in Uniontown, announces Sunday’s 9 a.m. casual worship service will feature praise choruses and hymns led by the Rev. James Fogg, accompanied by Jim Hutchinson, and Rev. Fogg’s message “The ‘Nocebo’ Effect.’ The traditional 11 a.m. service includes Rev. Fogg’s message and special music by the Asbury Chancel Choir, directed by Bill Dreucci, and Hutchinson. Loving Nursery Care is available for infants and children under 4. This is a change in dates. The series will answer questions such as Who is Mary? How does the Church understand her role in salvation? What does the Bible tell us about her?
