Anna (Volesko) Sostarich Saluga
Anna (Volesko) Sostarich Saluga, 97, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at Westmoreland Manor in Greensburg. She was born Aug. 2, 1905, in Dunbar, Pa., the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Toth) Volesko.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Sostarich in 1943; her second husband, Joseph Saluga in 1973; and 11 siblings: brothers, Stephen, Robert, John and Pete Volesko and sisters, Elizabeth Youler, Pearl Bogal, Mary Volesko, Alice Saxon, Violet Staines, Marge Volesko and Helen Smaley. She was First Born of 12 children and the last of her immediate family.
Anna was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
She is survived by her daughter, Eleanor Smarslok of Lemont Furnace; a son, Joseph R. Sostarich of Yukon, Pa.; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and until 9:30 a.m., on Saturday, when prayers will be said, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m., in Saint Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant. Interment to follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. Parish Wake Service will be held today at 2:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
