James Beatty
James Beatty, age 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2003 in Beverly HealthCare.
He was born August 30, 1924 in South Union Township, Fayette County, Pa., son of George William Beatty and Plezzie Hall Beatty. James was a Veteran of World War II who served in the United States Air Force in the European Theatre, Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and general Europe.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers Willard, Walter, Robert R. “Butterbaugh”, Donald, Gilbert, and George Beatty, and three sisters, Olive Roby, Bessie Long, and Mary Dugan.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Bane Beatty of Clarksville, Pa.; two sons: Col. James Willard Beatty of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Robert Raymond Beatty of Marianna, Pa.; three daughters: Loretta Jean Beatty Ebner of Alexandria, Virginia, Mary Ellen Beatty Hagar of Clarksville, Pa., and Barbara Ann Dickie of Carmichaels, Pa; seven grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews.
Friends were received in the JAMES D. BARNETT FUNERAL HOME, 196 West Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, March 8, from 10 a.m. until the Service at 11 a.m. The Rev. James Jobes officiated.
Interment followed in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa.
