Theodore Jerome (Teddy Ferrettii) Lapponi, 76, of Grindstone, Pa., formerly of Dravosburg, Pa., died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005, in the Brownsville General Hospital. He was born July 20, 1928, in Brownsville, Pa., and grew up in Maxwell, Pa.

He retired from U.S. Steel-Duquesne Works with 47 years of service.

He was a member of St. Martin DePorres Church (formerly St. Peters Church of McKeesport, Pa).

Ted enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Sons of Italy, Nights of Columbus, Lions Club, Catholic Golden Agers, Dravosburg Councilmen, Cub Scouts and Boy Scout Master.

Preceding him in death were his father, Tito (Pete) Ferrettii Lapponi; his mother, Annabelle Hordash Lapponi; his loving wife, Gloria Mae Kenney Lapponi; a brother, James William Hill; and an infant sister.

He is survived by three children, Theodore A. Lapponi and wife, Janet and their daughters, Pam, Amanda and Melissa, Debi Lapponi and her son, Joe Williams and his daughter, Lea Williams and Lori Ann Lapponi Richardson and her sons, Randy and Nick and Randy’s daughter, Mariah; and a brother, Charles Hill and wife, Sylvia and their family.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park St., Brownsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Friday at 9 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., in St. Peter’s Church of McKeesport, Pa., with the Rev. John Gudewiez as celebrant. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles, Pa. A Wake Service will be held on Thursday at 8 p.m.
