Verszyla-Bashour
United in marriage were Shelly Bashour and Jeffrey Verszyla, both of Pittsburgh. The Rev. Vince Gigliotti officiated the nuptial Mass on July 2 at the Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville.
The bride is the daughter of Rose and David Bashour of National Pike, Grindstone. The bridegroom is the son of Carolyn Verszyla of Sewickley.
Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white, strapless Italian silk gown hand draped on an asymmetrical A-line skirt with full chapel train. A tiara adorned with Swarovski crystals held an Italian-silk lined veil.
Erica Browder was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Bree Bashour-Ball, cousin of the bride; Lindsay Bashour, cousin of the bride; Lisa Verszyla, sister of the bridegroom; Andrea Bossert and Dawn Rudolph. Madeline Oliver, niece of the bridegroom, was flower girl.
Paul Merz was best man. Groomsmen were Shawn McClintock, Jay Reisinger, John Swartz, cousin of the bridegroom, and Ryan Bashour, cousin of the bride. David Oliver, nephew of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.
A reception as held at The Club at Nevillewood, Nevillewood.
The bride graduated in 1997 from Duquesne University with a bachelor of science degree in marketing/business administration. She is a senior oncology specialist with Onyx Pharmaceuticals.
The bridegroom is a 1991 graduate of Allegheny College with a bachelor of arts degree in communications and English. He also earned a bachelor of science degree in meteorology from Mississippi State. He is chief meterologist with KDKA-TV.
The couple honeymooned on the islands of Maui and Hawaii.
They are residing in Pittsburgh.
