Leonard Freeman

Leonard Freedman, 86, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, October 11, 2005. He was born in Uniontown, Pa., on July 5, 1919, son of the late Jack I. and Fannie Wolken Freeman.

He was owner of Freeman’s Shoe Store in Uniontown, and Wright’s Shoe store in Connellsville, for many years.

Mr. Freeman served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was a member and board member of Temple Israel and the Uniontown Jewish Community Center, a member of B’nai B’rith and a life member of VFW Post 47.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanton Freeman and Dr. Milton B. Freeman

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Eunice L. Freeman; sons, Richard S. Freeman, Kenneth A. Freeman and wife Ellen and Douglas A Freeman and wife Dasha; daughter, Janie F. Olsen and husband Robert D.; grandchildren, Alexander F. Olsen, Erik D. Olsen, Katie R. Freeman, and Juliana S. Freeman; a sister Margery Goldstein Allen; a loving sister and brother-in-law Sidney and Bea Tannenbaum; and loving nieces and nephews

Friends will be received in the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today, October 14, 2005, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Rabbi Sion David officiating. Interment in Kether Torah Cemetery, Millvale, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice
