Edna Durbin
Edna McCarty Durbin, 52, of Washington, Pa., died Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005, at her mother’s residence in Scenery Hill. She was born Jan. 28, 1953, in Washington, the daughter of the late John V. and Doris Thomas McCarty of Scenery Hill.
Mrs. Durbin was a 1971 graduate of Beth-Center High School and a graduate of Penn Commercial College of Washington.
She was a Customer Service Representative for 26 years with National City Bank and served at the same capacity with the Meadows Racetrack since 1999, XPRESSBET, until her recent illness.
She was a member of Fredericktown United Methodist Church and past member of “Old Trails Business and Professional Women.”
She is survived by her husband, Dennis and daughter, Amanda of Washington; her mother, Doris Thomas McCarty of Scenery Hill; two sisters, Judith A. McCarty and Janet L. Wood of Scenery Hill; one brother, Thomas McCarty and wife, Lois of Marianna; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Thursday in THE NICHOL FUNERAL HOME, 1873 East Maiden St., Washington, where funeral services will be conducted on Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Edd Myers officiating. Interment will follow at Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Cemetery, Amity, Pa.
