United in marriage were Mary Elizabeth Sloan and Iain Martin Burnett, both of Chambersburg. The Rev. William J. Kiel officiated the nuptial Mass on June 18 at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert B. Sloan of Uniontown and the late Nancy Sloan. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Burnett of Kinross, Scotland.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a white satin A-line gown with chapel-length train, all embellished with ice beading. Her headpiece was a two-tiered, fingertip veil edged with satin.

Maids of honor were Jennifer Bell of Pittsburgh and Jennifer Speggen of Uniontown. Bridesmaids were Brenda Robinson of Philadelphia; and Michelle Mathis of Greenville, N.C. Flower girls were Gianna Schuessler of Uniontown, niece of the bride, and Alicia Sloan of Erie, niece of the bride.

Best men were Darren Burnett of Manchester, England, and Alasdair Burnett of Tokyo, Japan, brothers of the bridegroom. Ring bearer was Jacob Sloan of Raleigh, N.C., nephew of the bride.

A reception was held at the Stone House Inn and Restaurant, Farmington.

The bride graduated from Geibel High School and Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor of science degree in business administration. She also received a master of science degree in marketing at the University of Stirling in Scotland. She is director of International Programs at Shippensburg University.

The bridegroom graduated from the University of Sunderland, England, with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy with politics. He also earned a graduate diploma in E-Commerce Applications. He is employed with The Public Opinion Newspaper.

The couple honeymooned in Las Vegas, Nev.

They are residing in Chambersburg.
