Mary Ann Patchan

Mary Ann Patchan, age 73, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, May 5, 2006, in Thorpe’s Personal Care Center, North Charleroi, Pa. She was born on September 20, 1932, in Springhill Township, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Peter Patchan and Mary Ann (Marensky) Patchan.

Mary Ann was a member of Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church and the Greek Catholic Union.

She was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society and also volunteered her time at local personal care facilities for many years.

Mary Ann retired from the Federal Bureau of Mining where she worked in the administration office.

Her thoughtful and loving spirit will be sadly missed by her family and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished!

Her parents and a sister, Mildred Patchan Beyrand, preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are six brothers and sisters: George P. Patchan and his wife, Irene, of Hopwood, Pa., Raymond J. Patchan and his wife, Anne, of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas S. Patchan and his wife, Joanne, of New Philadelphia, Ohio, Veronica M. Mocniak and her husband, Stanley, of Monongahela, Pa., Margaret T. Ferlin and her husband, Frank, of Greencastle, Pa., and Josephine F. Shea and her husband, Robert, of Canton, Ohio; a loving friend, Michael P. Yankovich of Dunbar, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Frank Beyrand of Ruffsdale, Pa.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, May 8) until 2:30 p.m. when the Panachida Service will be held.

Divine Liturgy follows at 3 p.m. in Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, East Main Street, with the Rev. Father Thomas J. Wesdock as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint John Byzantine Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Saint John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 185 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Parastas Service was conducted in the Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 7 p.m.
