Virginia L. ‘Jen’ Snyder, LPN
Virginia L. ‘Jen’ Snyder, LPN retired, 73, of Smithfield, Pa., died Tuesday, February 6, 2007, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. She was born February 20, 1933, in Hoover, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of the late Clarence Swaney and Minnie Mae Smith Swaney.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William S. Snyder, her brothers, Milton Swaney, Emory ‘Glen’ Swaney and Gerald ‘Bill’ Swaney, and her sister, Mazelma ‘Pearl’ Benson.
Jen began her career at the Uniontown Hospital as an aid and after graduating LPN school, she worked at Mount Saint Macrina Manor and retired from Green County Memorial Hospital in Waynesburg, Pa.
Surviving are her loving children: Bill Snyder and wife, Viv of North Pole, Alaska and their children: Chris and CJ, Mark Snyder and wife, Janice of Masontown, Pa. and their sons: Mark and Ben, Eva Moore and husband, Dave of Maynard, Massachusetts and their daughter, Tricia, Wayne Snyder of Smithfield, Pa. and his children: Wayne and Barbara, Mike Snyder and wife, Dusty of Amend, Pa. and their sons: Michael, Jeremy, Jeff and Brandon and son, Cliff Snyder of Smithfield, Pa.; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters: Pauline Rosinsky of Smithfield, Pa., and Retha Irene Phillips of Uniontown, Pa., and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, February 10, 2007, until 11 a.m., the hour of the service with the Rev. Scott C. Hoppe officiating.
Interment will follow in the Irwin Memorial Cemetery, Ohiopyle, Pa.
