A review of a single song, Jane’s Addiction’s “Obvious”

By Smalls 2 min read

I like leading into this with the lyrics because they are to me, a powerful message that need be heard. I know that probably only five percent of Uniontown will know what song I’m talking about, and that’s why I wanted to write about it. If we keep talking, reading and writing about the same stuff we’ll never learn anything new. Here is a review of the song, and a little tip for the readers at the end. I hope it’s not too much on the Jane’s tip but hey, if I could make one more Jane’s Addiction fan…here we go.

Hey, you don’t know me! You don’t know me, but you just keep on looking at me down low. Oh no! Digging something up…digging something up…always digging something up….Oh no! Hey you! I don’t know you. I don’t even want to, but you just keep on looking at me down low. Oh no! Digging something up…digging something up…always digging something up. Oh so! And you make it so obvious. Hey you! Fools don’t fit in the boots that I tread in, but you just keep on looking at me down low. Oh no! Digging something up. You got to owe me something before you know what is joke and what is up. I worked my little fingers to the bone and I won’t let you stop me going up. Why do you have to make it so!, so!, so!, so!, so!, so!, so!, so!OBVIOUS!?

unheard music that you all should make an effort to hear today-Jane’s Addiction/Ritual De Lo Habitual track four

This song fades in with the band and then Dave’s guitar takes over and leads in the main rhythm. Soon after a stereo effect ushers in Perry’s voice and Obvious becomes obvious, this song’s going to rock. All the way to the end. Check this one out and turn it up, put your windows down, sing along and ride this one all the way to Been Caught Stealing. And don’t stop there because Three Days, …Then She Did and Classic Girl are all life changing songs that you all have to hear too. Repeat as neccessary.
