Robert M. Horrell
Robert M. Horrell, age 87 of Powhatan, Virginia, formerly of Fairchance, Pa., died Friday, October 10 in Smiley Adult Home, Powhatan, Virginia. He was born August 21, 1921 in Kittanning, Pa., son of Thomas Elder Horrell and Amanda Ashe Horrell.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Helen May Peterson Horrell on July 8, 2006.
Surviving are two children: Glenna Burkhart and her husband Hugh of Powhatan, Virginia and Marilyn Vida and her husband Mark of Southbury, Connecticut; four grandchildren: Benjamin Burkhart and his wife Susan, Zachary Burkhart, Blake Vida and Jennifer Vida; two great-grandsons: Luke Burkhart and Levi Burkhart.
Bob was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Fairchance where he served as an Elder and a Deacon for many years. He was a member of Morgantown Masonic Union Lodge No. 4 and the owner/operator of the local pharmacy in the Fairchance area where he served as the pharmacist for over 40 years.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, October 14, 2008 until 10 a.m., the hour of service with the Reverend Donald E. Walls officiating.
Interment will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
