Uniontown man waives assault charges to court

By Herald Standard Staff 1 min read

A 28-year-old Uniontown man accused of trying to run over a state police trooper in May waived the charges against him to court. Sean Warren Middleton, who had been running from police for about two months after the alleged incident, was charged with aggravated assault, escape, fleeing or eluding police, false identification and citations for reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.

Middleton waived the charges to Fayette County Court during a preliminary hearing last month before Magisterial District Judge Joseph M. George Jr.

Police said the charges against Middleton were filed in May following an incident in which he was a passenger in a car that was stopped by police after running a stop sign.
