Warrant arrest
Uniontown State police in Lancaster arrested Antonio Salvato Ventura, 20, of Uniontown on a fugitive warrant from Uniontown police on Thursday, city police said. The warrant charges Ventura with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and conspiracy. Officers drove about 150 miles to Blue Mountain to pick up Ventura and then brought him before Magisterial District Judge Joseph George Jr. for arraignment. Ventura was placed in the Fayette County Prison on $3,000 percentage bail pending a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
Brownsville Dog bite reported
Brownsville police said the Fayette County Humane Society is investigating a report that a loose German shepherd dog bit Tray Mickens, 17, of Merrittstown on Hibbs Street at 3:48 p.m. Thursday. Police said Mickens refused treatment from paramedics, but he had four puncture wounds on his left forearm. Police said Robert Jones of Shaffner Avenue owns the dog.
Connellsville Charges filed
Connellsville police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:
n Diane L. Nicholson, 44, of North Fourth Street, with retail theft after she allegedly attempted to steal two packs of men’s T-shirts valued at $12 from the Dollar General Store on Jan. 9. Police said employees apprehended Nicholson before she exited the store.
n Michael D. Metts, 22, of North Pittsburgh Street, with harassment after he allegedly punched an unidentified woman in the stomach during a Jan. 3 incident along North Pittsburgh Street.
n Barbara J. Lewis, 23, of Puritan Village, McClellandtown with retail theft after she allegedly attempted to steal a pair of sunglasses from Nickman’s Drug Store on Jan. 2. Police said employees apprehended Lewis before she left the store.
n Kyle Bumbalough, 18, of North Manor with harassment and underage drinking after he had allegedly grabbed an unidentified woman and threw her to the ground during a Jan. 3 incident in the North Manor housing complex. Bumbalough left the scene after the alleged incident, but was later located by police and allegedly found to be under the influence.
South Union Twp. Man charged
State police charged Harry Paul Bryner Jr., South Union Twp., with simple assault and harassment following an incident outside of 178 Playford Road, Uniontown, at 10 p.m., Jan. 1. Police reported Bryner allegedly struck Suzie Reckner of South Union Twp.
Dunbar Twp. Burglary
State police said someone kicked in the front door and stole an unknown amount of money from Sherwood’s Bar, 3545 W. Crawford Ave., around 4:50 a.m., Friday. Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to contact state police at 724-439-7111.
Henry Clay Twp. Criminal mischief
State police at Uniontown charged James L. Savage, 20, of Markleysburg, with criminal mischief and harassment following an incident at the Lone Star Restaurant parking lot, Route 40, at 10:15 p.m. Jan. 13. Savage allegedly harassed and threatened to physically assault Tessa Denise Overbay, 28, of Marklesyburg. Also charged with harassment were Robert Edward Thomas, 19, Confluence, and Amber R. Savage, 24, Confluence.
North Union Twp. Simple assault
State police charged Louis John Smitley of Uniontown with simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct following an incident at 10:45 p.m., Dec. 26, when he allegedly struck Gerald Hough of New Salem at Smitty’s Bar, North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown.
Point Marion Items taken
Vincent Kish IV, 33, of Point Marion, told police someone stole a GPS unit and car stereo from his vehicle along Fallen Timbers Road, sometime between Jan. 13 and 14.
Bullskin Twp. Siding damaged
Roy Lentz, Johnson Lane, Connellsville, on Thursday told police someone damaged the aluminum siding on his house with a paintball gun. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call state police at Uniontown at 724-439-7111.
