Uniontown police said they are investigating a report of an attempted robbery in Uniontown Wednesday night. Officer Travis Shandor said the incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. at a residence at 54 Pershing Court.

Shandor said police were called to the location after Bobbi Patterson, 18, of Uniontown reported to Fayette County 911 that a man wearing a mask and carrying a gun kicked in her door.

Shandor said that once officers arrived, Patterson told police that she had been upstairs in her apartment when she heard banging on the door.

When she opened the door, she saw an unidentified man wearing a black mask over his face, Shandor said.

She confronted the man who then fled the scene, Shandor said. Patterson admitted to police that she did not see if the man had a gun, but said that he held one of his arms in a way that made her believe he did possess a weapon.
