Leonard ‘Pap’ H. Yokiel Sr.
Leonard ‘Pap’ H. Yokiel Sr., 80, Grindstone, Pennsylvania went to be with his Lord on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from Monongahela V a l l e y Hospital Inc., C a r r o l l Township, w i t h h i s loving family by his side.
He was born Friday April 17, 1931 the son of Joseph Yokiel and Pearl (Holesapple) Yokiel in Pricedale, Pennsylvania.
‘Pap’, an Air Force veteran, served in Europe as an Aircraft Engine Specialist.
He retired from United States Steel Corporation in Clairton, Pennsylvania.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three children Mary R. Yokiel, John M. Yokiel and George H. Yokiel.
Leonard is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Josephine Dietz Yokiel; nine children: Leonard H. Yokiel, Jr. and his wife Michele, Joe Yokiel and his wife Kathy, Deborah Yokiel, Jim Yokiel and wife Sheri, Dottie Bryant and her husband Mark, Janet Stanley and husband Lenny, Bertha ‘Bert’ Glover and her husband Jesse, Sam Yokiel and his wife Rhoda, Maggie Bohach and husband Eddie; nine grandchildren: Jim, Eric, J o e y, Jennifer, L a r i s s a, Mandy, Victoria, J.J., Caleb; and six great grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania today (Monday, August 15, 2011) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. in THE CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE, 777 Promised Land Drive, Coal Center, Pennsylvania with the Rev. David Watts officiating.
