Lorraine Compeau
Lorraine (Tassone) Compeau age 83, passed away Monday, September 3, 2012.
She was born in Masontown, Pennsylvania on August 17, 1929 the daughter of Walter Tassone and Mary (Bertovich) Tassone.
Lorraine was the beloved wife of Cecil ‘Cy’ Compeau for 62 years and the loving mother to Cecil Richard ‘Rich’ Compeau Jr.
Lorraine held degrees in education and music and was a teacher for 49 years and could not wait to get to school each day. She was a master teacher who loved her students and would not allow them to fail, giving countless hours to ensuring each students success. Lorraine taught grades 4 and 5 in Lakewood, Ohio and Uniontown, Pa., school districts and served as Elementary Music Supervisor for 11 years. She loved the violin and numerous other instruments she played and accompanied the many vocal choirs she developed. She worked closely with Louis Lane, the Conductor of the Cleveland Orchestra, to develop the Cleveland Orchestra’s Children’s Concerts. Lorraine touched the lives of countless children and parents through out her many years of teaching and her legacy will be dearly remembered by so very many.
She is survived by her husband Cy; her son Rich; and her brother, Jerome Tassone.
