Richard E. ‘Dick’ Gault

Richard E. ‘Dick’ Gault, age 86 of Merrittstown, passed away Monday, September 30, 2013 in Uniontown Hospital. He was born February 14, 1927 in Uniontown, son of the late William Gault and Etta (Richards) Gault.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister – in – law, William and Shirley Gault.

Richard was a member of Solid Rock Apostolic Church, McClellandtown, a retired school teacher of Brownsville Area Schools, including the former Redstone Middle School and Senior High School where he taught English. He was a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association (PSEA) and was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II.

Richard had a great love for dogs.

He is survived by his nephews: William Gault and wife, Denise of California and Don Gault of Ohio; his great nephew, Billy Gault of California and his niece Beth Hoffmeister and husband, Jim of North Carolina. He is also survived by very special friends, Leroy and Lisa Guesman, Larry and Angel Guesman and daughters, McKenzie and Aubree, all of Brownsville and Lee and Amanda Guesman of Republic.

A Memorial Service honoring Richard’s life will be held Saturday, October 4, 2013 at SOLID ROCK APOSTOLIC CHURCH, McClellandtown at 12 o’clock noon with Pastor Leslie Fuller officiating.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem.

Richard’s family would like to give thanks to the staff at Golden Living Center.
