Penny (Smalley) Vall

Penny (Smalley) Vall went home to be with her Savior on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the age of 75. A resident of Kissimmee, Florida, she passed away while sleeping in her home, after battling cancer.
The daughter of Russell and Cecilia Smalley, she was born on September 1, 1941 in Titusville, Pennsylvania.
A graduate of North Union High School in Uniontown, Pennsylvania Penny owned/operated the Penny Smalley School of Dance for more than 30 years with the studio located in the old Blackstone Building on Main Street in Uniontown, Pennsylvania for much of that period.
She was also an active member of Faith Assembly of God where she participated in the women’s and children’s ministries.
Upon the high school graduation of her son Brett Rodgers, Penny worked as a foster parent and brought many at risk and special needs children under her loving care. She and her husband later adopted four of those children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Rodgers of her first marriage September 16, 1973; her parents in 1989 and 1990; as well as her eldest brother John Murphy in 2013.
She is survived by her husband Donald Eugene Vall, Kissimmee, Florida; and her five sons: Brett Rodgers and his wife Cassie Rodgers of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Gabriel Vall, Kissimmee, Florida, Cody Vall of Kissimmee, Florida, Allan Vall and his wife Alicia Vall of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Antonio Vall of Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
Additionally, she leaves behind four grandchildren: Jonathan Rodgers stationed in Seoul, South Korea with the United States Air Force, Esther Rodgers of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Laura Rodgers Wasileski and her husband Justin Wasileski of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Christopher Rodgers of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and great granddaughter, Lucy Wasileski. Penny is also survived by three brothers Russell Smalley and his wife Linda Smalley of Steubenville, Ohio, Robert Smalley of Uniontown, Pennsylvania and Richard Smalley and his wife Christina Smalley of Easely, South Carolina.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 24th, 2016 from 10 a.m. until 12 Noon when a Celebration of Her Life will be held.
