Philip Angelo Scabis
Philip Angelo Scabis, age 87, of Allison, Pa., passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born January 27, 1930 in Herbert, Pa., a son of Angelo and Pauline Coppolino Scabis
Philip was a lifetime member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Pa., where he served as an Usher for many years.
Philip was a retired Crane Operator from Fruehauf Manufacturing in Uniontown, Pa.
He was a Life Member of the Fairbank Rod and Gun Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown, member of the Fairbank Christmas Light Committee.
He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Carmella and James Glagola; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Scabis and Helen Scabis; and his parents.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lois (Hershman) Scabis; four children: Philip Alan Scabis and wife Kathleen of Allison, Pa., Loreen Rosneck and husband Paul of Herbert, Pa., Rhonda Briggs and husband Robert of North Port, Florida and Lana Konopka and husband Christopher of East Millsboro, Pa.; grandchildren Philip and wife Dana, Christopher, Alexander and Kaitlin Scabis, Adam and wife Brittany and Nicholas Rosneck, Michael and wife Jennifer, Cory and wife Allison Brashear, and Nevin and Nolan Konopka; great grand children: Jackson Scabis, Tristan, Embry, and Charlie Brashear, and expected great grand daughter Claire Brashear sisters: Mary DeRose and husband Pete of Herbert, Pa., and Nina Panko and husband Carl of Garfield Heights, Ohio
The family will receive friends in ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., One Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday, December 8, 2017 until 10:00 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Philips name may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 103 Transit Drive Uniontown, PA 15401.
