Uniontown woman charged in Pershing Court break-in

By The 1 min read

A Uniontown woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly breaking into a Pershing Court apartment and accidentally kicking a toddler in the chest while trying to attack his mother.

Kelsha Carney Barnes, 27, was charged with burglary and a summary count of harassment.

Tiffany Sanner reported Barnes climbed through her window at about 1 a.m. Tuesday. Sanner told police she tried to push her children out of the way, because they were sleeping under the window.

Barnes allegedly punched and attacked Sanner, accidentally kicking the woman’s 3-year-old son in the chest. The boy was evaluated by Fayette EMS and was not injured. Sanner was also uninjured, police said.

Barnes is lodged in Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $30,000 bond.
