A warrant has been issued for a 17-year-old Monessen man who allegedly fired a gun from a vehicle toward a group of people following an argument that started through text messaging.

On Friday, Monessen Police filed charges including four counts of aggravated assault, two firearm charges and attempted homicide against Jamec Tavon Kizzie, 17, before Magisterial District Judge Joseph Dalfonso.

According to the affidavit of probable cause, the incident started over a text message from a juvenile associated with Kizzie.

During the texting argument, the juvenile allegedly stated he was going to arrive at a location along Lenawee Avenue in Monessen.

The juvenile along with Trashun Yates, Cinnamon Brooks, Shakal Brooks, Rachel Becerra-Cintra, Anita Beatty and Kizzie arrived at the scene at 8 p.m. April 26 where a verbal altercation ensued and as the group with Kizzie departed in a silver Ford Fusion, Kizzie allegedly fired one round out of a semi-automatic pistol from the vehicle toward the direction of Becerra-Cintra and Brooks.

The two were almost struck with a bullet from Kizzie’s gun, police said.

Police found a 9mm shell casing along the side of a vehicle at the curb on the north side of the roadway and the shell casing was submitted for analysis.
