Robert George Silverman

Robert George Silverman, originally of Uniontown, Pa and long time resident of St. Louis, Mo. passed peacefully on Wednesday May 2nd surrounded by loving family and friends.

He was born on December 20th, 1940 to Alma (Hawks) Silverman and L. Irving Silverman in Uniontown, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Lynne (Beitzel) Silverman and daughter Beth Silverman.

He is survived by his sons Robert and Michael Silverman and daughters in law Debbie and Kathy, grandchildren and brother-in-law Ron Popovec, niece Deborah David and grand nieces Stephanie and Rebeccah David, nephew Richard Zentkovich and wife Laurie-jo, grand niece Zoey and grand nephews Zachary and Zane.

Robert played cello with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for 42 years, served his country during the Vietnam War in the Elite Army Band and created the Youth Orchestra for the St. Louis Symphony.

He will be missed by his many students.

There will be a memorial service in St. Louis on June 22nd at 10:00am.
