The Tri Star auto group has again added to their holdings after buying the land, assets and franchise from Day Centennial Chevrolet on Pittsburgh Road in Uniontown to create Tri Star Chevrolet.

The location, which is now open for business, is the auto group’s tenth location. Other locations include Tri Star Ford, Tri Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Tri Star Kia all in Blairsville; Tri Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Fiat in Indiana, Tri Star Ford in Kittanning, Tri Star Ford and Tri Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram both in Somerset and Tri Star Nissan and Tri Star Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram both in Uniontown.

Greg Turchetta, vice president of operations for the auto group, said Tri Star opened in 1998 in Blairsville and was founded by its president, Kevin Sergent and his partner Rody Tibbot as a single dealership.

“Over the years, we’ve added and replaced franchises and now operate 10 dealerships in five towns in Western Pennsylvania,” he said. “Tri Star was founded on the principal that buying a car shouldn’t be hard.

“We introduced our Ultimate Advantage over 12 years ago, which provides every customer with $5,400 in value with every vehicle purchased at no cost to the consumer,” Turchetta added. “In addition to our retail new and used vehicle operations, we’ve grown to be one of the largest fleet and commercial dealers on the east coast. Kevin Sergent’s leadership and vision made this possible.”

The group has been wanting to acquire a Chevrolet store for quite a few years.

“Some of our top selling vehicles are domestic light duty trucks and SUVs,” Turchetta said. “With our other two stores in Fayette County, when this opportunity came up, the location was in close proximity to our other two stores and we felt it was just the perfect fit for us. The facility is beautiful, it’s big and the perfect addition.”

Representing the Chevrolet Brand and being able to offer all three domestic car and truck lines across Western Pennsylvania (Ford, Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Chevrolet) is one of the most exciting parts of the new acquisition.

“The new store will allow us to provide options to customers that aren’t available at most dealerships,” Turchetta said.

The auto group’s mission is to make it easier and faster to buy or fix a car while providing a word class sales and service experience.

“Anybody can sell a customer a car, our goal is to build a relationship with our customers that makes them want to come back again and again and refer their friends and family to us,” Turchetta said. “We also provide a best value guarantee. If Tri Star can’t beat a competitors best offer, we’ll just give you the car.”
