Michigan man jailed on drug charges in Fayette

A Michigan man is being held in the Fayette County jail after Connellsville police arrested him on drug charges Thursday.

Lorenzo Darrell Hatcher, 30, of Hamtramick, Mich., faces felonies of possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, receiving stolen property and prohibited possession of a firearm.

According to the criminal complaint, Thursday evening police found Hatcher at 214 E. South St. while serving a search warrant.

Police allegedly discovered $2,500 cash, approximately 20 grams of suspected crack cocaine and a handgun reported stolen out of Troy, Mich.

Hatcher was arraigned Thursday night before District Judge Ronald Haggerty, who sent him to the Fayette County jail without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Feb. 8.
