Fayette inmate death under investigation

The death of an inmate at the Fayette County jail does not appear to be suspicious, Fayette County District Attorney Mike Aubele said Tuesday.
Jail staff found Tiffany Timmons, 28, of Fayette City alone and unresponsive in her cell Saturday morning, county Coroner Bob Baker said in a release Saturday. Baker, Deputy Bob Furin and Chief Deputy John Kondrla responded to the jail, where Timmons was pronounced dead.
The investigation into the death is still active, Aubele said, noting an autopsy was conducted on Monday.
“I don’t have the results of that back yet, but we don’t think that there’s any danger to anybody else in the facility,” he said.
Aubele said he did not yet have toxicology reports.
Timmons had been in jail for probation violation after being sentenced on charges of criminal trespass.
The death occurred sometime after the final check Friday, Aubele said.
“There’s nothing to indicate that there was any problem Friday night,” he said. “We discovered her Saturday morning, and that’s when our investigation started.”
