Brownsville man charged in sexual assault of child
State police arrested a Brownsville man Wednesday in connection with the sexual assault of a 5-year-old earlier this year.
Court records accuse 70-year-old Donald Allen Wiederstein of assaulting the child at a home in Fallowfield Township.
Wiederstein faces felony charges of indecent assault, corruption of minors and misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure.
According to the criminal complaint, the allegations against Wiederstein were referred to state police on Aug. 5.
Investigators interviewed Wiederstein on Wednesday, and he allegedly admitted to sexually assaulting the child on multiple occasions, court paperwork states.
Wiederstein was arraigned Wednesday night before District Judge James Saieva, who sent him to the Washington County jail on $1 million bond.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Sept. 4.
