Dr. Daniel Bosnic, left, was named Superintendent of Uniontown Area School District.
The Uniontown Area School District Board of Directors has officially named Dr. Daniel Bosnic as the next superintendent of the school district.
Bosnic brings 21 years of experience in public education and has worked for 18 years in the Uniontown Area School District.
Bosnic said he is grateful for the opportunity to serve in the role of superintendent and lead the school district into the future. He looks forward to collaborating with students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the community.
In a letter to parents and staff, Bosnic wrote, “Having served as the Assistant to the Superintendent for many years, I have been fortunate to work closely with our dedicated educators, staff, families, and students. This experience has allowed me to witness firsthand the incredible sense of community, tradition, and pride that defines our district.”
A graduate of Laurel Highlands School District, Bosnic earned his undergraduate degree from California University of Pennsylvania and his principal certification and master’s degree at the University of Pittsburgh.
He obtained his superintendent certification and doctoral degree from Duquesne University.
He started his teaching career at Monessen City School District before joining Uniontown Area School District as a teacher at Lafayette Elementary School and later as a principal at Lafayette and Ben Franklin elementary schools.
He has served as assistant to the superintendent for 10 years, and follows Dr. Charles Machesky, who recently was named superintendent emeritus.
“As Superintendent, I am committed to ensuring that students are at the heart of every decision. Together, we will honor the district’s proud legacy embracing innovation and new possibilities for growth,” said Bosnic. “We will support our educators, empowering them to continue inspiring students each day. We will strengthen the collaboration between our schools, families, and the broader community, recognizing that true success is a shared effort. Most importantly, we will ensure that every child learns in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where they can truly flourish.”
Bosnic and his wife, Elizabeth, have four children.
