Three schools in the Uniontown Area School District were locked down Thursday morning while police searched for an individual experiencing a mental health crisis.

State police said the crisis involved a man from South Union Township, but did not specify what occurred. Shortly before 10 a.m., state police posted to social media that schools in the area would be locked down.

Affected by the lock down were Uniontown High School, Hatfield Elementary School and Hutchinson Elementary School.

The individual was located and the lock downs lifted after about 30 minutes.
