Police beat Oct. 2

CARROLL
Threats: Stephen Gency, 67, of Carroll Township, was charged Tuesday by Carroll Township police with terroristic threats and simple assault. According to the criminal complaint, on Sept. 15, Tafari Ryan reported to police that he had purchased the property at 9 Wood Alley and went to the front door to begin the eviction process. Gency allegedly answered the door and pointed what court records describe as a “long gun with a scope” at Ryan’s head and threatened to kill him. Gency was taken into custody and told investigators the weapon was a BB gun. District Judge Phillippe Melograne arraigned Gency Tuesday evening and sent him to the Washington County jail on $100,000 bond.
DONORA
Assault alleged: Joshua Timothy Montero, 46, of Donora, was charged Tuesday by Donora police with strangulation, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment. According to the criminal complaint, shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday police were called to Montero’s home in the 400 block of Fifth Street. Charging documents accuse Montero of choking his juvenile stepson. District Judge Phillippe Melograne arraigned Montero Tuesday evening and sent him to the Washington County jail on $10,000 bond.
