A Uniontown man was arrested after allegedly holding a woman captive for more than 12 hours.

Antonio McNeil, 42, is charged with kidnapping with intent to inflict injury or terror and unlawful restraint.

He was detained after state troopers responded to a house on Mount Vernon Avenue in South Union Township at 11:15 a.m. Saturday to serve him with a protection-from-abuse order, according to charging documents.

The officers had also come to make a welfare check on Jessica Petrovic, the person being protected under the order, the complaint said. She told police she had come to the house the previous night to pick up her belongings. McNeil had repeatedly pushed her against the wall and several times threatened her life if she tried to leave, according to the complaint.

McNeil also deleted Petrovic’s cellphone contacts and data so she couldn’t call for help, the complaint said.

During the 12 hours Petrovic was held captive, she told police, McNeil also forced her to drink water mixed with a powder she believed to be cocaine.

McNeil’s bail was denied on the grounds of being a flight risk and a danger to himself and others. He is lodged in the Fayette County jail.

McNeil is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial Judge Daniel Shimshock on Oct. 21.
