A Uniontown man is facing charges for allegedly threatening to kill his downstairs neighbor with a bow and arrow and calling him a racial slur.

Frank Zaydel, 54, was arrested Friday morning at his home on Cleveland Avenue, shortly after his neighbor reported the alleged threats to police.

The neighbor, Tony Hall, told police he had been sitting on his front porch when Zaydel came around the house with a bow and arrow shortly before 11:15 a.m.

Zaydel then threatened to kill him and used a racial slur while he had the bow pulled back, according to the complaint.

Zaydel left, at which point Hall called 911, police said.

Court paperwork said officers then went to Zaydel’s apartment, where he told police to “call the landlord, he knows what’s going on.” As Zaydel was putting on a shirt and shoes, an officer saw a compound bow in the corner, the complaint said.

Zaydel is charged with aggravated assault, ethnic intimidation, terroristic threats, recklessly endangering another person, and disorderly conduct.

Zaydel is being held in the Fayette County jail on $100,000 bail.

His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 28.
