A Uniontown man is charged with allegedly sexually assaulting a woman he had brought to an abandoned property to do drugs.

Philip Montgomery, 59, was arrested after police responded to a 911 call shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday from a woman who told them he was holding her hostage in a room on the third floor of a building on Main Street. The floor was marked as a restricted area open only to employees, according to the complaint.

The woman told police Montgomery had threatened to beat her if she did not have sex with him, the complaint said.

Montgomery is charged with rape, sexual assault, criminal trespass, indecent assault, terroristic threats and use/possession of drug paraphernalia.

Montgomery was denied bail on the grounds of posing a threat to himself and others, continued criminal activity and to ensure his appearance. He is lodged in the Fayette County jail.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 14.
