Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club names March Girl of the Month
Bailey Barnyak, a senior at Carmichaels Area Junior/Senior High School, was named the March Girl of the Month by the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club.
Her in-school activities and honors include being a member of the National Honor Society and Mikes Nation Alive. She is also a student in the EMT class and volunteers for the food bank.
She is a four-year letter in varsity softball, three-year letter in varsity volleyball, and was captain of varsity volleyball in 2025. She led WPIAL 1A in kills her junior year with 192, was the starting pitcher for three years. For three years, Barnyak has been on the 1st team all-county for softball as well as the 1st team all-state for softball. She has been chosen twice as the McCracken Pharmacy Athlete of the Week.
Outside of school, she plays travel softball for Steel City Athletics and gives softball lessons to younger girls. She attends Carmichaels Methodist Church.
Barnyak plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where she received a scholarship to play softball. She will major in nursing.
She is the daughter of Nikki and Nick Onderko.
