Saltlick Twp. official found to have committed ethics violations
A Saltlick Township supervisor was found to have violated state law by using his position for the material benefit of himself and his business, the State Ethics Commission found.
Timothy Coffman was ordered to pay $4,982.64 to the township, and file complete and accurate financial statements for the years 2020 to 2024, according to a release from the commission. He is also barred from receiving any payment from the township as reimbursement.
According to the commission, Coffman ordered a second cellular phone line through the township that was given to his daughter.
Coffman also used his office to receive payment as the township’s secretary/treasurer while also being paid as a full-time township supervisor and roadmaster, the commission found. And he was found to have enriched himself by impermissibly carrying over paid time off hours and converting them to compensatory time.
According to the commission, Coffman also acted to benefit his business when the township entered into a contract of $500 or more with Tim Coffman Seal Coating and Line Painting without an open process.
