A Fayette County man is accused of soliciting naked photos and videos from an underage girl and exchanging hundreds of explicit texts with her.

The 13-year-old girl told police she had been communicating with Nicholas Bane, 19, of Merrittstown, on Snapchat for about two years.

The conversations were found by the girl’s guardian in April as she was going through the girl’s phone, according to the criminal complaint.

Police reviewed more than 700 messages between the two, most sexual in nature, court documents stated.

In an interview with police in May, Bane said he had thought the girl was 14.

Bane is charged with causing a child to depict a sex act, possession of child sexual abuse material, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors and criminal use of a telecommunication facility.

A warrant has been issued for Bane’s arrest.
