Uniontown to hold graduation June 1
Uniontown Area High School will hold its commencement at 6 p.m. June 1 in the school’s Margaret A. Emelson Auditorium.
Valedictorian is Isabelle Braun and Hannah Foster is salutatorian. Arrington Scott served as senior class president.
Isabelle is the daughter of Josef and Gretchen Braun. She was a member of the Drama Club and was a part of many productions during high school. She was also a member of the cross country team, lettering all four years and holding the position of captain her senior year. She also took part in Academic League, Math Team and National Honor Society, and was a class officer for four years.
She will attend Carnegie Mellon University on the pre-medical track, intending to continue to medical school and become a doctor.
Hannah Foster is the daughter of Joseph and Amy Foster. She is a member of the high school swim and dive team, was a four-year PIAA state qualifier and currently holds school records in the 100-meter breaststroke and 200-meter medley relay. She was also a four-year member of the cross country team and a two-time PIAA state qualifier. She competed on the track and field team for two years.
Hannah was involved in Fayette County 4-H, and also served as a class officer for four years and participated in National Honor Society, Academic League, Math Team, French Club, and Bible Club.
She will attend Duquesne University to pursue a degree in civil engineering with an environmental concentration.
Arrington Scott, daughter of Durell DeCarlo and Aaron Scott, was a four-year member of the track team, participated in plays and musicals, was a Raiderette in the marching band, and a member of National Honor Society and bocce team. She also was on the cross country team.
Arrington plans on pursuing a career in nursing.
