An SCI-Greene inmate is accused of an assault that left another inmate with multiple broken bones.

Terrell Richardson, 44, is charged with aggravated assault and simple assault in an attack on inmate Darious Ferguson, which police said occurred on Dec. 21 in the prisoners’ shared cell.

State inmate records said Richardson is serving a sentence out of Philadelphia County.

In a written statement to investigators, Ferguson told police Richardson had attacked him in his sleep and “tried to kill me,” according to the criminal complaint.

Security footage later showed Richardson drag Ferguson from the cell and hit him while Ferguson was lying on the ground, the complaint said.

Photos taken by an SCI-Greene lieutenant showed injuries and swelling on the side of Ferguson’s face, as well as a metal toilet covered in blood, which officers believe Richardson used to strike Ferguson’s head against, the complaint said.

Charging documents stated Ferguson was transported to UPMC Washington, where he was determined to have sustained a broken jaw and orbital bone.

Immediately after the attack, Ferguson needed to be transported by wheelchair and could not answer orientation questions, the complaint said.
