Washington man accused of assaulting police officer

East Washington police charged a man with a felony of aggravated assault Saturday after he was accused of assaulting a police officer while being arrested.

Tyler Alan Lash, 30, of Washington, also faces misdemeanor charges of endangering the welfare of children and resisting arrest.

According to the criminal complaint, at about 11 p.m. police were called to the 100 block of South Wade Street for a report of two men fighting.

Charging documents state that police found Lash’s vehicle with two children under the age of 9 in the backseat. The car was off, and it was about 36 degrees outside.

According to the complaint, Lash fought police while they attempted to detain him and injured an officer’s hand.

Lash was arraigned Saturday morning before District Judge Charles Tenny. who sent him to the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond.
