Greene man charged with child pornography
A Dilliner man was arrested on charges of possessing multiple images of child pornography.
Police began investigating Johnie Carter, 42, after a Cybertipline report from Google to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alleged he had saved seven images involving children, according to the criminal complaint.
Charging documents stated at least one photo included a child estimated to be as young as 5.
Subscriber information linked to the account led police to an address in Dilliner where Carter resided, police said.
Under questioning from police, Carter admitted to having multiple images of child pornography on his tablet, court documents said.
Carter was charged Thursday with child sexual abuse material, disseminating photos of child sex acts and criminal use of a telecommunications facility.
Judge Lee Watson denied bail on the grounds of the seriousness of the charge and potential danger to the general public.
Carter’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for May 20.
