By Conner Goetz 1 min read

A Monongahela man is behind bars in Fayette County after an alleged police chase resulted in injuries to two police officers early Saturday morning.

Frank Cope Jr., 54, is facing 20 charges including felony aggravated assault, flight to avoid apprehension and criminal mischief following an alleged police chase that began in North Strabane Township in Washington County around 1 a.m. and ended with Cope’s arrest in Fayette County, according to court documents.

Cope was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Ronald J. Haggerty Jr. on Saturday morning and remanded to Fayette County Prison after being denied bail, after Haggerty cited Cope as a “danger to society” following the chase.

According to court documents, Cope is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Haggerty on May 27.
