Fayette woman charged with aggravated assault, robbery
A Fayette County woman was arrested after being accused of holding a person at knifepoint and smashing a car window with a hammer.
Police arrested Amber Lilley, 39, of Footedale, after responding to a report of a disturbance at a house on Footedale Road in German Township shortly before 8 p.m. Saturday.
Joanne Lewis, who lives at the home, told police Lilley had come to her front porch asking for a ride, then followed her inside when she went upstairs to change.
Lewis followed Lilley into the kitchen, where Lilley found a knife and held it to Lewis’ throat, demanding “purse, pills, money and keys,” the complaint said.
The robbery was interrupted by Lewis’ nephew, David Mitchell, who told Lilley to leave the house, court documents state.
Mitchell told police that Lilley brought the hammer she’d been carrying with her outside, where she smashed in the windows of Mitchell’s car before pounding on a door on the side of the house.
When police arrived, Lilley first provided them a fake name, according to the complaint.
Charging documents said police also found a hypodermic needle in Lilley’s right pocket. She told police she had used methamphetamine a few hours prior, the complaint said.
Lilley is charged with aggravated assault, robbery, burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, simple assault, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threats and providing false identification.
District Judge Daniel Shimshock arraigned Lilley Monday morning. She is being held in the Fayette County jail after being unable to post bail of $50,000.
Lilley is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Judge Ronald Haggerty on May 27.
