J-M student accused of assaulting classmate
Charges are being prepared against a Jefferson-Morgan High School student accused of assaulting a classmate Friday morning, the Pennsylvania State Police said.
Superintendent Dr. Brandon Robinson said Friday the victim’s mother had picked him up at the school and taken him to the hospital.
“The student was examined by our nurse, who determined there was no ambulance needed, but the mom could pick him up, and she suggested that he seek medical treatment,” he said.
There were no weapons involved in the incident, Robinson said.
In a Facebook post Friday afternoon, the district said there was no ongoing threat to students or staff, and that it would work with law enforcement to follow appropriate disciplinary and legal procedures.
“It’s just not what we expect in our schools,” Robinson said. “We’re going to do the appropriate disciplinary action moving forward. It’s disappointing, and it’s something that really doesn’t happen here.”
