Investigation into fatal Fayette shooting continues
One man dead following reported domestic incident
No charges are pending as the investigation continues into Sunday’s fatal shooting of a Georges Township man, Fayette County District Attorney Michael Aubele said Monday.
Troopers found Shaun Davis, 39, on the floor with a gunshot wound while responding to a reported domestic incident at his home on Walnut Hill Road, according to a release from the Pennsylvania State Police.
Around 1 p.m., state police troopers were dispatched to the home after receiving a call of shots being fired, the release said.
Davis died from his injuries while being transported to WVU Medicine Uniontown Hospital, state police said.
Aubele said all people inside the house at the time of the incident, including multiple juveniles, had given statements to the police, and been released from custody.
“We will do everything we can to corroborate the statements that were given to us; we may do some testing of items that we recovered,” Aubele said. “Ultimately, we conducted interviews with what we believe is everybody that was in the house at the time of the incident, and they were released without charges.”
The emergency room physician pronounced Davis dead, with the manner of death listed as homicide, Fayette County Coroner Bob Baker said in a release Sunday.
Police said there was no further threat to the public.
