A Uniontown man faces charges including attempted homicide after he was accused of severely damaging a Menallen Township home with an improvised explosive device as part of an ongoing feud.

Uniontown police said cellphone records and nearby surveillance footage from the night of Aug. 4 place Christopher Greer, 41, in a GMC Yukon that traveled from his home to the house at 180 Dearth Road.

The vehicle was parked outside until 10:32 p.m., roughly two minutes before part of the house exploded, according to the criminal complaint.

Lacie Jordan, who was the only person home at the time, told police she was in the bedroom making a phone call to her mother when a flame came through a window, followed by a “sizzling sound.”

She leapt into the kitchen, hearing a boom behind her shortly after, the complaint said.

The explosion damaged part of the bedroom and destroyed part of the exterior wall of the home, scattering debris outside, according to court documents.

Investigators said the incident appeared to be connected with an “ongoing animosity” between Jordan’s boyfriend, Javon Brown, and several people connected to his ex-girlfriend, Marlene Michaux.

Greer is one of Michaux’s “close associates,” Brown told investigators.

Brown, who lives with Jordan, told investigators about several incidents, including one on July 23 where he alleged Michaux’s new boyfriend pulled a gun on him when he went to Michaux’s home in Uniontown to use the bathroom.

The boyfriend told police he had not pointed his gun at Brown, but shut the window on Brown when he wanted to fight, the complaint said. In response, Brown stayed outside the house for another half-hour, then poured gasoline on the ground outside the window.

Brown told police he had received retaliatory threats online and via text following the altercation.

The day after the explosion at his house, Brown was charged with arson for allegedly setting a fire at Michaux’s home.

Police stopped Greer in the Yukon three days after the explosion, the complaint said. They later received cellphone data through a search warrant, which placed Greer’s phone near Jordan’s house shortly before she saw the IED, according to the complaint.

Greer is charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.

He had yet to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon.
